After shutting out two tough Canton sides as well as a team from Hillsdale College and weathering a tough onslaught from Marion, the Cleveland Eastern Suburbs Rugby Football Club fell to their rivals the Cleveland Rovers in the final match of the Canton 10s tournament.
Throughout the day everyone contributed to the side’s success,with backs spying holes and moving the ball and the forwards dominating the scrums. Both elements of the Green Horde side contributed to the numbers on the scoreboard and notching win after win. Backs and forwards were also strong on the defensive side of the ball. Few tackles were missed and the ball was turned over numerous times throughout the day.
The win streak came to an end when the Rovers went up three scores to one in the first half. The Green Horde fought their way back, but a late-game try put the game out of reach.
